To all my sewing blogger out there what type of chair are you sewing in?Well I have been sewing in that chair picture above for 2 years.I remember when I saw that chair and table set at walmart and had to purchase it.Now I am having leg problems and back troubles. My right leg is numb from the knee down.It has been like that the whole month of December. Now pain is starting to come in my leg.My doctor gave some pills to get the inflammation down. When it goes down I will have to get some X-rays to see what is going on.I have been sewing off and on ,but I used my adjustable computer chair to sew in.My doctor told me not to do any sewing for a while, but I am hard headed. To my blogging friends make sure you have the right chair to sew in so you won't have pain later!!!
These are some of the things I shouldn't of have been sewing!SHH don't tell. And yes I was in pain after making each and everything!See I told you I was hard headed!

I always thought it would be a good idea if the sewing industry focused on some ergonomic products, and marketed them effectively to the people who need them.
I hope you will be able to rest your leg, and find a more suitable chair!
Cute top! I have an office chair. It's adjustable and supports that part of your back that will always hurt.
Love the top!! I have a regular office chair.
You're back! :-D You have got to be the coolest mom. Your daughter's clothes are adorable.
I'm sorry you've been having back problems. Get rested and healed up soon. Sewing can wait.
My old desk/computer chair broke. I now use and old kitchen chair with a cushion.
Love your latest projects I also have the same problem with my sewing chair I guess I need to get me another chair real soon because I take off from sewing for about 3 or 4 days just to relax my legs.
You did great on your shirt so cute, love your daughter Hello Kitty pants cute. Hope all goes well and you heal soon take it easy lay back and crochet for awhile:)
Gurl you are one sexy sewer!! :o)
And YES!! You need some back support woman! QUICK!
Welcome back, I was wondering where you'd disappeared to. What a bummer about your legs, definitely invest in an ergonomic chair, it makes a difference. Sending you a *Get Well Soon Wish*. Your blouse is rocking and love the vibrancy of it. The outfits for your daughter are cute, she is going to be a Fashionista.
Your daughter's outfits are so kewl! And she looks adorable in them!
As for a chair, I use a secretary's chair (office chair) with the adjustable back that I can tighten up for more support when I've been sewing for long periods of time. However, I am thinking about upgrading the chair. I have had it for 7 years now and I want the really nice padded one on Nancy's Notions site.
Awww, I'm so sorry about your pains. I don't sew...well, I don't sew that MUCH. But when I do, I just use the same chair I scrapbook in. Which happens to be my desk/office chair. It appears that you need something with back support.
Hope you feel better soon. (And get a new chair...SOON!!!)
you are working that top!!!
Now I started to develop a pain in my hip from sewing....I started to get worries because I was limping to work. But I COULDN'T STOP SEWING. Come to find out it was my placement of the foot presser that was causing the pain. I stretched it out about a foot infront of me and pain went away :-)
As beautiful as those garments are (and your daughter is too cute for words), they are not worth your health. Get thee a better chair! My chair, which I bought shortly after starting my business, is one of the best things I ever bought for my sewing. It was not terribly expensive, around $150 I think. But the height and front-to-back angle adjust. So I can make it low enough so that I am not hunched over my machine. And I can tilt it forward a bit so I have some lower back support while working. It's hard to spend money on something as mundane as a chair, but I do not get back pain while sewing anymore. It's one of those "how did I live without it" purchases, like a serger or a steamer.
I hope you feel better. I use one of those cheap metal chairs with the cushion, but I will be getting a more comfortable chair soon. I love the stuff you made for your daughter.
Oh wow awesome stuff!!
Oooh, I'm sorry to hear about your leg. I hope you find the source of the pain. It sounds like a pinched nerve. Feel Better!! We need you sewing!!
P.S. I love Hello Kitty!! You're a cool mom. The clothes are adorable!!
I have an ergonomic office chair from Herman Miller. i had an adorable vintage sewing chair that I died a slow painful death in!
The top is cute!
When I used to work in a call center, I crocheted for 8 hours straight in an office chair and never had problems. When I got home, it was another story. Couldn't do the easy chair, the couch, pillows on the bed. So, I would suggest an office chair. I so wish I had your sewing skills.
Sorry to hear of your pain and discomfort. I sew at my dining room table. I too have been experiencing some pain, numbness in my legs. I think some of it is from poor circulation (I need to exercise more).
I do understand sewing passed your pain. You've made some beautiful pieces. Feel better, get better.
God bless.
The outfits are so cute. I know your daughter loves it....Every little girls just loves Hello Kitty.
